The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
