The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
