Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
