And those who disbelieve say: What! when we have become dust and our fathers (too), shall we certainly be brought forth? 67 We have been promised this, and our fathers before; this is naught but the fairy-tales of the ancients.' 68 Say: "Go about through the earth and see what has been the end of the evil-doers." 69 (Muhammad), do not be grieved (about their disbelief) nor distressed about their evil plans against you. 70 And they say: When (will) this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful? 71 Say: "Perhaps some of what you wish to hasten is right behind you." 72 And indeed, your Lord is full of bounty for the people, but most of them do not show gratitude." 73 The Lord knows full well what they conceal in their hearts and what they disclose: 74 there is nothing hidden in heaven and on earth, but is recorded in a clear Book. 75 Surely this Qur'an explains to the Children of Israel most of the matters concerning which they have disagreements 76 It is a guide and mercy for the believers. 77 Lo! thy Lord will judge between them of His wisdom, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 78 so put your trust in God. Surely you are on the path of manifest truth. 79 Verily, you cannot make the dead to hear (i.e. benefit them and similarly the disbelievers), nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they flee, turning their backs. 80 just as thou canst not lead the blind [of heart] out of their error; none canst thou make hear save such as [are willing to] believe in Our messages, and thus surrender themselves unto Us. 81 ۞ And when the word shall come to be fulfilled concerning them, We shall bring forth a beast of the earth speaking unto them, that the people have not of Our signs been convinced. 82
