And when he was full grown, and reached the perfection of his strength, We gave him judgment and knowledge. As such We recompense the gooddoers. 14 And he entered the city at a time of unawareness of the inhabitants thereof, and he found therein two men fighting, one being of his own party, and the other of his enemies. And he who was of his party, called him for help against him who was of his enemies. So Musa struck him with his fist, and put an end of him. He said: this is of the work of the Satan, verily he is an enemy, a misleader manifest. 15 He said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me," and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. 16 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast bestowed a favor on me, I shall never be a backer of the guilty. 17 And in the morning he was in the city fearing and looking about, when lo! he who had asked his succour yesterday was crying out unto him. Musa said: verily thou art a seducer manifest. 18 When Moses was about to attack their enemy, he said, "Moses, do you want to kill me as you slew a soul the other day? Do you want to become a tyrant in the land, not a reformer?" 19 And there came a man, running, from the furthest end of the City. He said: "O Moses! the Chiefs are taking counsel together about thee, to slay thee: so get thee away, for I do give thee sincere advice." 20 So he left the city in fear, waiting to see what happens; he said, “My Lord! Rescue me from the unjust people.” 21
