The Romans (Al-Room)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 The Romans are vanquished, 2 in a land close by. But, after their defeat they shall become the victors. 3 Within ten years - Allah's is the command in the former case and in the latter - and in that day believers will rejoice 4 In the help of God. He helps whom He will; He is all-mighty, ever-merciful. 5 [It is] the promise of Allah. Allah does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know. 6 They only know the superficial realities of the worldly life and they are unaware of the life to come. 7 Do they not reflect on themselves? Allah created the heavens and the earth and whatever lies between them in Truth and for an appointed term. Yet many people deny that they will meet their Lord. 8 Have they not travelled through the land to see how terrible was the end of the people who lived before them. The people who lived before them were stronger than them in might, in tilling, and in developing the earth. Our Messengers came to them with clear miracles. God did not do an injustice to them but they wronged themselves. 9 Then evil was the end of those who did evil, because they rejected the communications of Allah and used to mock them. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
