Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book (the Quran). 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of men is he who takes instead frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah's path without knowledge, and to take it for a mockery; these shall have an abasing chastisement. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
