The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man, 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
