۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Are we then not to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
