۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 What then, shall we not die 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
