۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Are we then not to die 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
