3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
