3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
