3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed Nooh prayed to Us so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
