3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
