The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 and a few from later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and serried acacias, 29 And shade extended 30 and flowing water, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 For those on the right. 38
