We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And helped them, so that they became the victors; 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture; 117 guided them to the right path, 118 And We kept their praise among the latter generations. 119 Peace be unto Moses and Aaron! 120 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,- 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore? 126 Then they belied him, so verily they are to be brought up. 127 excepting only [those who were] God's true servants; 128 We preserved a good name for him among posterity. 129 Peace be on Ilyas. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 Lot too was one of the Envoys; 133 When We rescued him and his entire household. 134 Except an old woman (his wife) who was among those who remained behind. 135 and We destroyed the others. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 And at night. Then will you not use reason? 138
