Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
