S (Saad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them who cried when it was too late for escape. 3 Now they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, 'This is a lying sorcerer. 4 Does he make all the deities out to be one God? This is indeed a strange thing." 5 And their leaders went about, "Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!" 6 We have not heard this in the religious community close to our time. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)! 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and [the tribe of] 'Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes, 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 There was not one of them but treated their messengers as liars, so My punishment rightly overtook them: 14
