S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad. I swear by the Quran, which is full of reminders of God, (that you are a Messenger). 1 Nay, but the unbelievers are steeped in arrogance and stubborn defiance. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before their time [for this very sin]! And [how] they called [unto Us] when it was too late to escape! 3 And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar. 4 What! makes he the gods a single Allah? A strange thing is this, to be sure! 5 The chiefs among them departed saying: go, and persevere in your gods; verily this is a thing designed. 6 We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication. 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord, the Most Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 This is just one of the disgraced armies, that will be routed there and then. 11 Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, as did the 'Ad and Pharaoh of the Stakes, 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
