Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ha-Mim. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
