Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 Lo! as for those who believe and do good works, for them is a reward enduring. 8
