54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
