And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 Among His signs are the ships sailing like mountains on the sea: 32 if He willed, He could bring the wind to a standstill and they would lie motionless on the surface of the sea, truly there are signs in this for anyone who is steadfast and grateful, 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. 35 Whatever thing you have been given is the enjoyment of the present life; but what is with God is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. 36 And (for) those who avoid cardinal sins and indecencies, and forgive (even) when they are angry. 37 And those who obeyed the command of their Lord and kept the prayer established; and whose affairs are with mutual consultation; and who spend in Our cause from what We have bestowed upon them. 38 And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves, 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 And whosoever vindicateth himself after wrong done to him; these! against them there is no way of blame. 41 The cause is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment. 42 And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination. 43
