Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim 1 By oath of the clear Qur’an. 2 behold, We have caused it to be a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount. 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" 14 And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful. 15
