Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim 1 By the Clear Book, 2 Verily We! We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that haply ye may reflect. 3 And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you, for that you are a prodigal people? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff. 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 He Who sent down water from the sky in a determined measure, and thereby We revived a dead land: likewise will you be raised up (from the earth) -- 11 It is He who has created everything in pairs and the ships and cattle for you to ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful. 15
