Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 I called to them clearly, 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 “I therefore told them, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is indeed Most Forgiving.’ 10 He will shower upon you torrents from heaven, 11 rain from the sky, 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
