Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 These people say, 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Surely the day of separation is their appointed term, of all of them 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
