Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 Till a limit known? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
