We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 and indeed, We chose them knowingly above all other people, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
