The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And no trifle. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
