Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
