Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
