Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
