Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
