۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They found their father going astray 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
