Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
