Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. 46
