We built the heavens by Our authority; and We are the Lord of power and expanse. 47 And the earth -- We spread it forth; O excellent Smoothers! 48 And of everything We have created pairs; perhaps you will take heed. 49 Therefore fly to Allah, surely I am a plain warner to you from Him. 50 And set not up another god with Allah; verily I am unto you from Him a warner manifest. 51 Similarly, whenever a Noble Messenger came to those before them they always said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 52 Have they, perchance, handed down this [way of thinking] as a legacy unto one another? Nay, they are people filled with overweening arrogance! 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone and you will not be blamed. 54 but keep on exhorting them, for exhortation benefits the believers. 55 I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me. 56 I do not expect to receive any sustenance from them or that they should feed Me. 57 It is God Who is the Sustainer and the Lord of invincible strength. 58 The evildoers shall have for their portion, a portion like their companions (who were destroyed before them). Therefore, they should not ask Us to hasten! 59 Woe to the disbelievers when the day with which they have been threatened comes! 60
