Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 So let them bring a discourse like it, if they are truthful 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather they are not certain. 36 Or are thy Lord's treasuries in their keeping? Or are they the registrars? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Do they design evil plans? The disbelievers themselves will be snared by their evil plots. 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise, 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
