The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the star when it setteth. 1 Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, 2 nor does he speak out of his desire. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 He has been taught (this Quran) by one mighty in power [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. 5 The Lord of Strength; so he attained completion, 6 And reached the highest pinnacle. 7 Then he [Jibrael (Gabriel)] approached and came closer, 8 So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – was with body and soul.) 9 Then he revealed to Allah's servant whatever he had to reveal. 10 The heart [of the Prophet] did not misconstrue what he saw. 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 And certainly he saw him in another descent, 13 Nigh unto the lote-tree at the boundary. 14 near unto the garden of promise. 15 with the lote-tree veiled in a veil of nameless splendour 16 Neither did sight falter nor exceed the bounds. 17 Verily he saw one of the greater revelations of his Lord. 18 So did you observe the idols Lat and Uzza? 19 And Manat, the other third (of the pagan deities)? 20 What! unto you the males and unto Him the females? 21 Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! 22 These are only names given by yourselves and your fathers. God has not given them any authority. They, (unbelievers), only follow mere conjecture and the desires of their souls, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord. 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 But to Allah belongs the last (Hereafter) and the first (the world). 25
