HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 Thamud, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
