(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
