The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 It will be a place of return 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Recompense fitted! 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
