HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
