(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
