Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 He plunged the villages 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
