Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 Thamud, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
