The warnings came also to Pharaoh's folk. 41 they, too, gave the lie to all Our messages: and thereupon We took them to task as only the Almighty, who determines all things, can take to task. 42 Are the unbelievers among you any better than they? Or is there immunity for you in the Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: "We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious?" 44 (Let them know that) this united group will soon run away in defeat. 45 Nay, but the Hour is their appointed time (for their full recompense), and the Hour will be more grievous and more bitter. 46 Lo! the guilty are in error and madness. 47 The day when they are dragged on their faces into the Fire: 'Taste now the touch of Sakar!' 48 We have created everything in a determined measure. 49 And Our command is but one (word) swift as the winking of an eye. 50 We did indeed destroy many like you. Is there, then, any who will heed? 51 And every thing they did is in the scriptures, 52 Every small or great deed is written down. 53 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and light, 54 honorably seated in the presence of the All-dominant King. 55
