The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
